LEGO Lord of the Rings, Story mode done

Now I have played through whole story mode which means that I have finished 30% from game. That sounds really lame since now I should play same areas through as free player mode, Open all  the possible characters, grind money for to buy everything.. So most likely I play the game every now and then when I have time or interest. A shame that Lego games always follows rather same concept.. Well you know for sure what you're buying but sometimes surprises would be good.

Treants destroys Isengard.

Gollum and his personalities.

Safest path to Moria.

Shelob itself.

Story mode was nice one anyways. Story followed the movies well  enough and there were all the important scenes added to the story (except Tom Bombadil and Old Forest). And it was good to notice that characters gets new things along the journey. When Sam and Frodo became weary, Aragorn instead gained new armor and sword. So yeah.. like it should go.

Rohirrim will aid Gondor.

Elrond advices Aragorn.

Army of the deaths.

Angles of the camera still causes troubles. You can turn camera and try to  see things from better angle but still it ain't as perfect and smoothly running than in some games I have played. So at times loss of coins was more than planned only because I fell constantly at the same spot.  But at least you spawn immediately into same spot you fell so no need to run half of the area again in story mode.

Mount of doom.

The one ring melts.

Sauron itself.

Fall of Sauron.

Videos between areas were looking cool and they were nicely done. Especially short clips about Sauron were nicely done and eye was as threatingly looking than in the movies. And when I think of all the areas there were easy to feel which were safer, which were harder. Of course game is so easy that it won't affect on playing but gives the game better atmosphere than making all the areas to look sunny ones.

Eagles saves the hobbits.

Day of the celebration in Gondor.

King of the Gondor.

Faramir and Eowyn has something going on.

Four little heroes!

So after playing story mode through I can say this is game for those who do not seek much challenges. If you want to play easy game explore areas and follow good story (beforeknown) this is for you. You better not to seek hard or tough places from lego games, except few of the jumping puzzles are annoying  if you haven't get used to play those. So game works for younger ones also sicne there won't be blood. When lego char is killed there is only small pieces of legos which are coins and perhaps one heart. So fun little game and lot of exploreing especially to those who likes to go through same areas an find all the secret spots!

LEGO Lord of the Rings; Helm's Deep

Third posting about LEGO Lord of the Rings. This posting is mostly since fight in the Helm's Deep looked so awesome. Of course it is lego game still but I think they got something right in the atmosphere but still I it was easy to pass. So great summer game when you do not want to anger yourself with failures.

Worg riders were hunting us.

Aren't these elves simply cute?

Armies of the orcs are marching.

You were once again playing three heroes.. Gimli, Aragorn and Legolas. It was fun to watch how these three had gained friendship. Even when fighting they had some humour and they worked together helping each other. Just the way it should happen if you ask from me. I Kind of like using Gimli as much as possible since he is grumpy he has so much humour in his words. And yeah swinging lego orcs with an axe is good sport!

Helm's Deep is good stronghold.

Poor Gimli can't see everything.

Orcs with white hands.
Pushing ladders down was important job.

It is funny  how you begin to tolerate weaknesses of the game when the story is interesting enough. I believe I wouldn't ever be this fascinated about LEGO Batman since Middle-Earth has special place in my heart. Actually first PC game I ever bought was J. R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, Vol I. It was a treasure since I even had to collect money for the game by picking berries and selling them at the age of 11 or 12.

The orcs has plans.

The wall is exploded.

Trying to buy time for evacuation.

Time to ride with King Theoden.

Are of the Helm's Deep was darl but still it was amde so that it felt that there was a big army attacking endlessly. And it seemed desperate moment when we had to withdraw from the battle. But yet the morning arrived and sunlight brought new hope to us.

Gandalf the White arrives!

The orcs are fleeing.

Victory!

Fight in the Helm's Deep was actually rather short but it looked so cool so I decided to make special posting about it. I might make only one or two postings about this game anymore but trying to summarize it when I have played the story through at least and been testing those quests then. But yes.. still this game isn't for serious gamers. It is fun and lego game. You will be disappointed if expecting something epic.

LEGO Lord of the rings part II

Somehow Summer becomes always busy. I do tend to play more but found myself travelling to see relatives, friends and working. Well luckily my holiday is still in front of me so perhaps I will have more time to play. As a rainy day like today it was good time to continue story of the Lego game anyways. If you haven't read the books nor watched the films.. these screenshots from the game might give you hints about the story.

Final battle against Balrog.
Boys are a bit lost

Sam climbs to catch fishes to Gollum.
Dead Marshes isn't the nicesst place to spend time.

I am glad that story of the game still follows rather well the movies and the books. But The Lord of the Rings movies were following books better than the Hobbit films followed the original book. So when I try to play Lego Hobbit I might growl in pain when I really liked the book! This game is made for whole family and it would be nice to play even with little ones. Characters has their special skills like Sam knows how to use elven rope for climbing and Frodo can use elven cloak to hide himself. So when you do play alone.. it is common to switch from one character to other. If there would be two players playing they could team up and and help each other but when you do play on your own, use all of the characters which remains in the group at that moment.

Mighty Oliphants!
Between the ares you can run freely and pick some extra quests to do later.
Meeting the Rohirrim.

The creepy Fangorn

Lego games are full of humour. Since I do know the original story well it was fun to laugh sometimes to Gimli when he was grumbling about Fangorn or complaining about something else. Of course there are also frustrating moments when your char isn't an exact point and you try to jump only falling to your death. That happens a lot since you can move in every direction but game is always shown from one angle. Even I have played several Lego games I still do not like this system at all!

Treebeard is suspicious.

Treebeard just stomps everything.

Meeting old friends again.

The story has continued and hopefully on the next update I can tell how did the fight of the Helm's deep went. It might be interesting to see how they have created that big battle and how much you can move from your fighting spot to  look through stronghold. Yeah and since I still play the basic story I haven't tried those extra quests so far so new things to try still.

Lego Lord of the Rings, first part

I like to play silly games at times where you do not have to think and you just play them through. No tough choices or situations. You just either point and click through the game or jump, kill and move forward. After celebrating Midnight summer it was good to time to begin one of these kind of games what are playable even for kids. So I decided to play Lego Lord of the Rings.

You hav to gather all kind of goodies from the areas.

The game won't look scary.

Shire is pretty and lovely looking.

If you have played any from the licensed games by lego you will know how they work. You play as lego-look-a-like-characters and jump, kill and go forward. And of course you smash many things and gather lego coins and other specialities like chests etc. No blood or anything else what would game look more dangerous. And unfortunately the story follows the movies, at least so far  what I have been playing. So I was missing good old Tom Bombadil when Old Forest was skipped. What a disappointment.

Wandering around the Rivendell.

The Guardian of the entrance to Moria isn't a nice guy.

You better not to fall in Moria.

Of course the plot of the game is more straightforward then in the books or movies. But it works since at least I do know the basic story well enough not needing all the information. But I am not sure from those who haven't seen the movies nor read the books. Would they do like the story? That I can't answer. And I know some of the fans would be annoyed when some of the scenes are made to be funny ones or childish.  But yes, better remind again that this game is made for kids.

Meeting Galadriel.

Leaving Lothlórien.

There are also extra quests in the areas.

When I finished first part from I wasnät superexcited. The game is still nice for the days when you're tired to think after work but at the same time I am slightly annoyed that I can't recieve 100% played game unless I want to play same scenes through multiple times. There is always hidden places and areas what you can't look through immediately since on  the first gaming time you can't pick all the playable characters what you will need to finish the area. Plus there is also extra quests what you can finish in the areas. Those I haven't tried so far but I will make later second posting about this game where I also introduce those quests since those were new to me (I used to play Lego Star Wars and there wasn't any quests).
